Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

• Account information — your email address, name, and the Instagram username you provide at sign-up.
• Usage information — the links you scan, your scan history, and credit activity, so we can provide the service and your account features.
• Payment information — handled entirely by our payment provider, Dodo Payments. We never see or store your full card details; we only receive confirmation of your subscription status.
• Technical information — basic logs and an approximate network identifier used to prevent abuse (e.g. limiting duplicate free accounts).

2. Public music-credit data

To provide results, Prod-Genie processes publicly available information about music releases — credit lists and public professional profiles — through official sources such as the Genius and Spotify APIs, and public follower counts. Where a contributor has publicly listed an Instagram handle on their own public profile, we display it so you can reach out. We do not guess, invent, or collect private contact details, and we do not compile private personal information.

If you are a music professional and would like a handle we display (that you publicly listed on a third-party profile) removed from our results, email us and we will remove it.

3. How we use your information

• to provide, maintain, and improve the service;
• to manage your account, credits, and subscription;
• to send you essential emails (verification codes, account and billing notices);
• to prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Service providers we use

We share limited data only with providers that help us run the service:

• Supabase — authentication and database hosting;
• Vercel — application hosting;
• Dodo Payments — payment processing (Merchant of Record);
• Resend — transactional email delivery;
• Apify, Genius, Spotify — public data sources used to build results.

5. Cookies & sessions

We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and to operate features such as account limits. We do not use them for cross-site advertising.

6. Your rights & choices

You can access and update your profile in your account settings, and you can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by contacting us. When you delete your account, your personal account data is removed.

7. Data retention & security

We keep your account data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward as needed for legal, security, and accounting purposes. Passwords are hashed by our authentication provider and are never stored in readable form. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

8. Children

Prod-Genie is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
